He trespasses into my bathroom
Tugging the towels off the rack
Inhaling the shampoo bottles
Caressing the toilet bowl
Resuscitating the tap
Prying open the shower curtains
With a stroke of luck
He awakens from his drunken fog and remembers
His invitation was to my body, not my bathroom
It takes months for the putrid stench to wash down the drain
And with it, strands of color from the world I once saw
*Thank you to those who listened, who grieved, who were angry. Your kind heart and words will always be remembered.
